Art of Tea
  About Us

The Art of Tea is a family run business that began in December 2000 at Salamanca Market. From humble beginnings with just 12 different teas displaying, The Walker family had a vision for a tea market within Tasmania and expanded the range to more than 80 tea types, including green and white tea and herbals. Art of Tea changed ownership in April 2007 to Samantha and Stephan, also keen to see quality loose leaf tea available all around Tasmania and the mainland.

Samantha and Stephan share the love of tea and good health, and continue to run the Salamanca stall every Saturday with their daughter Hanna-Jane, born in December 2006. Hanna-Jane experiences the sights, smells and sounds of Salamanca Market nearly every Saturday and enjoys the interaction with customers as much as Samantha and Stephan!

The business has progressed well and for many happy customers, they continue to enjoy the quality tea thay have become accustomed to. The current range of teas and herbals is now 100 varieties !!. These continue to be available via web, email, fax or phone order, or direct from the Market.

With a bent to improving health and wellbeing the range of herbals and botanicals is set to increase. Also by recognising the Rooibos (South African red bush) with its high antioxidants, low tannin and caffeine free health benefits we see the red as the new black and endeavour to encourage our customers to try this great beverage.

Keen to see Tasmanians and visitors enjoy a decent cup of tea wherever they travel the aim is to market our tea range around the State and indeed the mainland of Australia. Currently the teas can be found in a number of cafes and retailers around Tasmania , so see our Retailers and Cafe page to ensure you can have your favourite brew wherever you go. In time we hope to have more retailers interstate as well.

Our teas are hand packed with care and we are confident that each box of tea goes out to the customer beautifully packaged and ready to be enjoyed!
